She took the microphone over from Elliot, then gazed into his eyes and said, “I know that we’re completely different people, Elliot. You’re like a blazing ball of fire, while I’m just a piece of wood. Unlike normal fire, however, you won’t burn me. You simply bring me unforgettable warmth and affection. The crowd burst into cheers!
“Come on! Give us a kiss!” called out the guests.
Eric immediately covered Layla’s eyes.
Layla reached up and pushed Eric’s hands aside. “I want to watch them kiss!” She paused for a moment, then pouted and said, “I thought that Mommy would be really angry when Daddy didn’t show up to the wedding earlier. I thought that they would fight again and not see each other again…” Seeing how loving her parents were right now made Layla feel a sense of relief. Over at the rental house, Henry was scrolling through his phone and reading the news online on the couch.

Henry shot him a glare. “Elliot’s determined not to give us a penny. What are we supposed to do about that?”
The gears in Cole’s head began to turn as he thought of ideas.

Adrian was not being taken care of very well while he lived with Henry and Cole, but he was still better off than when he lived with Nathan and Peter.
